Welcome to my site! My name is Jennifer Lakhlani. I have lived my entire life in Illinois, aside from a year spent in India. I grew up in Meredosia, where I received my high school diploma. I spent over a decade in Quincy, where I received an AAS degree in office technology from John Wood Community College. I currently reside in the Jacksonville area where I received a BS degree in Psychology from MacMurray College. Sadly, we graduates of 2020 were the last to ever be able to attend that lovely school. It shut its doors permanently that summer. COVID-19 was the final straw in its coffin following many years of financial struggle. I'm so glad I was able to become part of MacMurray's history.

I've worn many hats over the years, but I never got to experience being a stay-at-home mom. That is until I discovered that my youngest son is on the spectrum. For the past 3 years, I have been blessed with the chance to be an at-home, fully available mama. However, lately, I deem the title director of home operations more fitting since I manage the family budget, coordinate all family affairs, and am the caregiver/coordinator of my elderly father-in-law as well.

Working from home has provided me with some free time for my favorite passions:  writing, nature walks, and family history research. I have become hopelessly addicted to researching my family history. It inspired me to create a children's picture book: My First Genealogy Book: An Introduction to Family History Research, and a"Family History Enthusiast" blog and YouTube channel.
